Drilling
(Pg 1of 3)
On Site Selection Connecticut Valley will visit you at your property to view the proposed well site. The single biggest determining factor will be the location proposed for the septic system and any buried oil tanks. Connecticut and Massachusetts both have minimum distance requirements of 75’+ and 100’ respectively. Of course, the location/position of the house and accessibility of the lot itself to the drilling equipment are also taken into consideration. At this time, based upon estimated water needs (100 gal./day/person), the depth of the wells in the area, and pumping equipment required, you will be provided with an estimate and a contract for the mutual protection of all parties. Most localities require a permit to be taken out prior to the well being installed*. Connecticut Valley will procure all necessary paperwork. Most helpful in obtaining town permission is a copy of the plot plan from the civil engineer responsible for designing the septic system. *It should be noted that some towns require that a well be drilled before they will grant a building permit. |
